Welcome to Mark Adams and Shannon Hockey, two newly elected members of the Board of Directors, and a heartfelt THANK YOU and fond farewell to a departing friend, Jan Pappas.

The USA Warriors Ice Hockey Program (USAWIHP) is excited to welcome Mark and Shannon to the Board of Directors.  As the governing body for the organization, the Board of Directors plays a critical role in off-ice administration and leadership for the organization, including creating and shaping the organizational strategy,  goals and objectives of the organization; sourcing, managing and making fiscal decisions for the program; providing  and following the recommendations of on ice leadership regarding tournament participation, managing tournaments, and where support lies for “franchise opportunities” like Badger State, Charleston, New England, Ohio or Georgia.

We welcome Shannon’s leadership abilities, organizational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills to support the USAWIHP.

Mr. Mark Adams, a retired Navy Commander and member of the USA Warriors Standing Team, has been with the USAWIHP since 2014.  A native of Syracuse, New York, Mark retired from the Navy in 1992. He and his spouse, Linda, reside in Alexandria, VA. They have two daughters, one son, two grand daughters and one grandson who plays hockey.  In addition to his player participation, Mark has supported the Warriors as an advocate for improving the program in many capacities. He administered and completed the process for the USA Warriors participation in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Additionally, Mark has coordinated the USAWIHP participation in the VA Adaptive Sports Grant program for three years.  Welcome to both Shannon and Mark.

Ms. Jan Pappas has been a stalwart member of the USAWIHP for over 6 and a half years, as a board member and serving as Secretary of the Board of Directors.  Jan has always been both generous and gracious with her time, giving much more than was asked.  On behalf of the entire USA Warriors Ice Hockey Program, a big THANK YOU to Jan and her family.  We wish you the best in your future endeavors and know that our program is better because of you!
